There is no official Unicode category called โcolored aesthetic symbols.โ Instead, users assemble colorful characters from various Unicode blocks (such as Miscellaneous Symbols and Pictographs, Emoticons, and Supplemental Symbols) alongside decorative text accents to create a coordinated visual style.
These characters work together visually, but they do not all handle color in the same way under the hood.
Colored Emojis vs. Text Symbols
The distinction between colorful characters and plain text symbols is technically fundamental. Colored emoji usually bring their own colorful visual presentation, while ordinary aesthetic symbols generally take their foreground color from the text styling used by the host application or website.
For example, ๐ฉท (Pink Heart) is standardized to display with colorful, emoji-style graphic artwork on modern operating systems. By contrast, โก (White Heart Outline) is a standard text character: its visible color is determined by whatever CSS or system font color is applied to the surrounding text.
If a webpage displays a text symbol like โก in pink using CSS styling, copying the character into your clipboard does not embed the pink color into the Unicode character itself. When you paste it into an Instagram bio, TikTok handle, or Discord message, the receiving platform renders it in its standard text color (usually white in dark mode or black in light mode).
According to the official Unicode Emoji Standard (UTR #51), Unicode distinguishes between text presentation, where foreground color is derived from surrounding styling, and emoji presentation, which typically supplies its own multi-colored appearance.

Emoji artwork is not a single uniform graphic file shared across the internet. While Unicode standardizes the code points (for example, U+1FA77 for Pink Heart), the visual artwork is custom-illustrated by each operating system vendor (Apple, Google, Samsung, Microsoft).
As a result, a pink heart or lavender flower will have slightly different shading, gradients, saturation, and contours on an iPhone compared to an Android or Windows PC. Always test and preview your finished combination directly in the social application where you plan to use it.
Can You Change the Color of an Aesthetic Symbol?
This depends on whether the character uses text presentation or emoji presentation:

If you need an exact custom color hex code that must remain identical everywhere regardless of user platform settings, a plain Unicode character cannot replace an image or SVG badge.
